Understanding the Kyanite Facets

Understanding Clarity

When everything is tangled together, more thinking doesn’t always create more clarity.

← Back to Kyanite Coaching
Kyanite works across six interconnected facets: Stability, Clarity, Organisation, Momentum, Accountability and Capacity. They are not six separate services or a sequence to complete. They are different areas we may draw on depending on what is happening for you and what would be useful now.

What Clarity means at Kyanite

Clarity is about creating enough space to understand what is actually going on.

When thoughts, feelings, responsibilities, expectations and decisions are all competing for attention, it can become difficult to tell what matters most — or even what the real problem is.

Clarity does not mean instantly knowing the answer.

Sometimes it simply means being able to see the situation more clearly than you could before.

You might recognise a need for Clarity when…

  • You keep going round the same decision without getting anywhere.
  • Everything feels important at once.
  • You can describe lots of problems but cannot tell which one actually needs attention first.
  • Other people’s expectations are making it difficult to hear what you need.
  • Something feels wrong or stuck, but you cannot quite put your finger on why.
  • Your head feels so full that thinking harder is no longer helping.

What can make Clarity difficult

Pressure makes everything louder.

So can exhaustion, competing demands, fear of getting something wrong, responsibility for other people, unfinished tasks and having too many decisions open at once.

Sometimes the challenge is not a lack of information.

It is having too much information, emotion or noise competing for the same attention.

What we might work on

  • getting thoughts and demands out of your head
  • separating facts, feelings, assumptions and expectations
  • identifying what is important rather than simply loud
  • understanding what is making something feel stuck
  • making options more visible
  • deciding what needs a decision now and what does not

What Clarity is not

Clarity is not certainty.

It is not knowing exactly how everything will turn out.

And it is not somebody else telling you what decision to make.

The aim is to make the picture clear enough for you to decide what matters and what comes next.

How Clarity connects with the other facets

Sometimes Stability is needed before clear thinking becomes possible.

Clarity may reveal an Organisation problem underneath the noise.

It may show what is blocking Momentum.

It can make Accountability more useful because the commitment becomes clearer.

And it often helps identify where Capacity is actually being consumed.

You don’t have to choose a facet.

These pages are here to help you understand the Kyanite approach — not to give you another decision to make before asking for support.

You may recognise one facet strongly, several at once or different ones at different times.

You don’t need to decide which facet you need before asking for support. Start with what is happening. We’ll work that out together.
